You see us offering Afternoon and Sunset Cruises.
What you don’t see us do is teach Veterans with PTS or MST how to Sail for Free.
And, you don’t see our Annual Women Veterans Weekend retreat.
You can help us through your volunteering, or, by taking classes and booking Cruises.
When a Veteran can have a clear mind, through exercise and an invigorating sailing experience on Pentwater Lake, located in beautiful Pentwater Michigan, thoughts of self harm are diminished.
Most charities ask you to take it on faith that your support will benefit people you care about.
Recently a member of the Veterans’ Basic Keelboat Class spoke to our instructor about his reluctance to ever leave his house. But, the prospect of buying and sailing his own boat made him able to leave for the entire day, every day, for the full five days of class.
This is what success looks like.

West Michigan S.A.I.L. is now a US Sailing Accredited Sailing School! WMSAIL is the only US Sailing Accredited Sailing School in Michigan and one of only 44 in the United States!
Programs for the General Public
Working with the local veteran agencies, WMSAIL provides our sailing programs to veterans with PTS or physical challenges, at no cost. As a means to fund our veteran programs, we are offering US Sailing Certified Basic Keelboat sailing classes, plus afternoon cruises, sunset cruises, and other special events to the general public.

We offer a basic 5 day keelboat class for adults 18 and older. Or, you may want to schedule a Cruise on Beautiful Pentwater Lake or on Lake Michigan to view an often spectacular summer-time sunset. Our boats can accommodate up to 5 persons.
